Anthropic

Anthropic’s Responsible Scaling Policy defines AI R&D capability thresholds (AI R&D-4 through Opus 4.6, an “automated AI R&D” threshold from Mythos Preview on) and reports SWE-bench Verified plus a hard subset used as an RSP checkpoint, two internal AI research evaluation suites with thresholds stated in human-expert hours, a subset of METR’s RE-Bench, staff surveys, and from 2026 an internal acceleration measure built on a fork of Epoch’s Capabilities Index. From Opus 4.8 the card says the task suites are no longer load-bearing for the determination, and the Fable 5.1 / Mythos 5.1 card did not run Suite 1 at all.

Bounded evaluations

Every bounded evaluation on one 0 to 100 percent axis. Text-based RL and SWE-bench Verified approach the ceiling; the novel compiler’s complex tests and Suite 2 do not, and from Opus 4.8 the card stops treating the task suites as load-bearing. A black cross marks the last reported value of a series later cards drop; card names run along the top.

Unbounded evaluations

Every unbounded evaluation as a multiple, on a log axis. Solid lines are divided by the card’s human reference (1x = the reference reached; the label gives the reference value and the human time it represents); dashed lines have no reference and are indexed to their first card.

Each evaluation over time

Numeric scores over card date, one panel per benchmark series. Same marks as on the OpenAI page. Terminal-Bench is split by version; the quadruped task is split at its rescale.
